Completed applications should be postmarked no later than April 1, 2010 and should be sent to: Senator Nancy Jacobs Scholarship Application 420 James Senate Office Building Annapolis, MD 21401-1991 Note: Applications for following years are posted by Aug 8 of the current year.

I am awarding scholarships to members of my district who are attending institutions of higher education in Maryland.

An impartial committee has been assigned that will review applications and determine eligibility for the scholarships. This committee will make the recommendations to me on dispersal of the scholarship money. I will ultimately review and approve those recommendations.

The following are eligibility requirements that must be met to be considered. You must:

• be a resident of the 34th Legislative District (this can be verified by calling my Annapolis office 800-492-7122 x 3158)
• attend a Maryland college or University
• complete, print and return the Senator Nancy Jacobs Scholarship application
• enclose a resume that lists: employment, community service, extra-curricular activities, career goals, and two Maryland personal references with contact information,
• make sure your application is postmarked no later than April 1, 2010.

Awards range from $400 to $2000 per year, and remain in effect a maximum of eight semesters as long as the student remains eligible according to the guidelines of the State Scholarship Administration.
