Senator Nancy Jacobs addresses students at Abingdon
Elementary on voting

Senator Nancy Jacobs, District 34 of Maryland, visited
Abingdon Elementary School on Thursday, November 6th from 12
noon to 2:00 p.m. During her visit, Senator Jacobs visited all
kindergarten classes and spoke with the children about voting
and the process of how she became a state senator because of
citizens who voted her into office. She spoke about the
responsibilities of state senators and what they do to help
people. Additionally, Senator Jacobs talked with the students
about the state symbols for Maryland and she gave each student a
coloring book and stickers that related to the role of
government.
Senator Jacobs’ grandson attends Abingdon Elementary School as a
kindergarten student. The visit was initiated by her grandson's
teacher, Ms. Tracy Moretti, who invited Senator Jacobs to visit
kindergarten students to help them understand the concepts of
elections and voting.
