The Harford County Small Business Development Center (SBDC)
hosted a
Small Business Conference at Harford Community College in Bel
Air, MD on Thursday, May 11, 6-10 p.m. in Edgewood Hall, Room
132 on the HCC campus. Breakout sessions were held in
adjacent classrooms.
The conference, “What Can the Aberdeen Proving Ground Expansion
Do for Your Bottom Line?” was open to owners of all small
businesses, including minority business owners and women, as
well as defense contractors and business owners who subcontract
with the government. In addition, anyone considering a small
business startup was encouraged to attend.
Attendees will learned about business opportunities that potential
new customers bring to the area.
Also, topics such as the
negative side of expansion, how to plan for change, financing,
targeted marketing, legal issues, and human resource management
will be discussed.
The conference will included dinner, keynote
address, an interactive panel discussion with area experts, and
breakout sessions.
The keynote will address who is coming to APG,
when they will be arriving, and the potential impacts to your
bottom line.
Questions and answers covering specific technical,
marketing, and strategic issues related to the expansion will be
covered.
